Deluge

Deluge is a completely free and open source BitTorrent client which conveniently allows you to download any torrent file. The program stands out mainly for being extraordinarily lightweight, occupying little space on the hard disk and consuming very few resources when it is in operation. To achieve this, instead of offering all its features automatically, it separates them into different modules that can be installed individually, depending on your own needs.

Simple and elegant interface

When you open Deluge for the first time, you will notice the simplicity of its interface. At the bottom of the screen you will have all the information on the data you are uploading and downloading, while in the left column you can see the trackers. The rest of the screen is occupied almost entirely by the torrents active at that moment. You will be able to see the name, size, download progress, download and upload speeds, and estimated time left to download completion. By right-clicking on any torrent, you can also set specific rules.

Customize your experience

One of Deluge's strengths is the possibility of adding additional plugins to the program. From the Options menu you can access the Plugins tab, where you will find almost a dozen possible options. These plugins will allow you to see additional statistics about your downloads, create notifications for particular events, or extract compressed files automatically when they finish downloading. In addition to the ten official plugins, you can find dozens of additional third-party plugins, which are also very easy to install.

As is common in software of this type, Deluge allows you to easily download any file in .torrent format. From the Configuration Options you can create your preferred upload and download limits, as well as the limit of connections. You can also manually configure ports or set up a proxy for added security. You decide how you want to download and at what speeds.
